Story :

11 years ago, while working in the building site , he was injured and finally his leg was amputated.

Ever since then he has been home bound which was a harsh reality which even his family could not accept.

They renounced him and he has been kindly taken care of by some of his relatives, thanks to the helping souls!

Till today he is sitting by himself in a single room not being able to self support himself.

Auroville management has been feeding and providing for his basic expenses.

The Project :

Our intention here is to help such persons to become self supportive.

We felt that by giving him some support we can help him find a job. He is not married and has no children to depend on to take care of his needs.

When we met him it was not difficult to feel his frustration and his inability to take care of himself. This is enough for one to create a prison for himself. He is still optimistic

that help is there and his determination to get a job. We do feel that he is strong and mentally healthy to work.

Our objectives in this project:

1. To purchase a vehicle and make it feasible for a handicap to drive. As he lives in the village he would need a transport to go around to find a job.

2. We are also talking to people who can employ him in Auroville or nearby and with a vehicle it should not be difficult to find a suitable job for himself.

3. We are looking at fitting a Jaipur leg to create more mobility for him which will re-open a new chapter in his life.

We are raising funds for this project and hope to implement this project in November by Diwali.
